About
Hannah Twiggs
From writing small local articles on the Sunshine Coast, to travelling across Vietnam and reporting my own stories, my passion for journalism has only grown over the years. I am graduating at the end of 2015 from the University of Queensland with a dual degree in Communications/Journalism, majoring in PR. Across the four years of my degree, I have gained exceptional insights and skill sets through the many internships and work experience opportunities.
In 2013, I started out as a content writer and social media manager for the food scene in Brisbane, Gourmand & Gourmet, under Liquidity Marketing. I then worked as a weekend writer for the local newspaper on the Sunshine Coast where over 20 of my articles were published in Sunshine Coast Daily. In 2014, I created articles for an online blog called Spultured. At the same time, I interned and helped to develop Australia's longest running radio publication Jock's Journal. A few months later, I was given the opportunity to work within MEAA (the Media, Entertainment and Arts Association) and organise the Walkley Awards in South Australia and Queensland. I was a social media manager as well as a PR person for the awards. I was then invited to attend the Clarion Awards for Queensland end of 2014. I was given the opportunity at the beginning of 2015 to travel to Vietnam for foreign correspondence work and create my own news stories, you can find my work in the link below: http://vietnamtoday.com.au/category/reporters/hannah-twiggs/
Recently, I have worked at KDPR, one of Brisbane's top Public Relations companies and am currently the PR/social media advisor for Maree Davidson Art. I have also just completed intensive reporting internships with both Channel Ten and the ABC. Additionally, I have participated in a number of university based programs such as jacTV and jacRadio reading the news.
I have a love of interacting with people as well as a passion for learning more about the world we live in. I hope to one day expand my journalism practices even further and work within broadcast especially.

Below are two photography reels I created at university and in Hanoi in Vietnam. The first photo reel was developed for a course in my degree where a topic/theme was chosen and then photographed in abstract formats. I recieved a high distinction for my work. The second show reel was an insight into the Temple of Literature and the religious and educational ties the temple in Hanoi has to its people.
